Tivoli Gardens opened on August 15, 1843. It was founded by Georg Carstensen. Its original purpose was to provide entertainment and recreation for the public.

Weekday mornings are generally less crowded than weekends or evenings.
Facts & Legends
It is rumored that Walt Disney visited Tivoli Gardens multiple times before designing Disneyland, drawing inspiration from its atmosphere and layout. The park's founder, Georg Carstensen, reportedly told King Christian VIII that "when the people are amusing themselves, they do not think about politics."
